NOW IS THE TIME TO HELP THE MACAU GREYHOUNDS!
The time of the Canidrome is nearing its end, and in July it will shut down forever.
It will be a great day for all those who love greyhounds and other animals, and who want the world to be a more civilised place. But that isn’t enough for us. We are fighting so that the greyhounds who have survived the hellhole that is the Canidrome are handed over to the care of Anima Macau, so that they can find loving homes in countries where animal rights are respected. We don’t know if this will be possible, because it’s not up to us, but our hope is that the Macau authorities will find a way to save these dogs from certain death outside of Macau, thus saving the public image of this city, which is among the most popular tourist spots in the world. So we don’t know right now if we will succeed.
But we have to be prepared and create the right conditions now so that everything is ready when this massive international adoption project – possibly the biggest and most complex ever attempted – is ready to kick off.
For this reason we are asking all those who love greyhounds and other animals and who care about justice and compassion to make a donation now, in order to allow Anima to take care of the approximately 600 plus Canidrome greyhounds we hope will be saved, and prepare those that are not locally adopted for their journey to the countries where they will find their forever homes. We cannot yet give an exact figure, but we do know that the sum required will be very large.
The donations will be handled directly by Anima Macau, exclusively for the Macau greyhounds.

If, on the other hand, the Canidrome’s greed prevails and the dogs cannot be saved, all funds collected will be allocated for projects and associations aimed at rescuing greyhounds from the racing industry and from Chinese meat markets. Thank you!
