Towards a new life
On Saturday 24th November 20 greyhounds and lurchers from the Irish rescues Limerick Animal Welfare, GalwaySPCA and Erin Hounds Sighthound Rescue with whom we collaborate, were welcomed in Italy by their adoptive and foster families.
A special thank you to Emma O’Brien of Galway SPCA and Darren Mulqueen of Greyhound Awareness Cork, who accompanied the dogs to Italy and whose presence and high standard of care was very reassuring for the dogs.
Thank you to Marion Fitzgibbon and all the staff at LAW, Emma and the GSPCA team, and Victoria of Erin Hounds Sighthound Rescue, for the courageous, passionate and relentless work they have been doing in Ireland for years rescuing greyhounds and lurchers and defending their rights.
We are infinitely grateful to them and they have our utmost respect.
These families have made a commitment to give and guarantee these dogs the life of love and respect which they have been cruelly denied since birth, exploited and abused in the world of greyhound racing. We wish Snowman, Hazel, Pippin, Joy, Rosie, Jay, Jim, Diva, Seanie, Chubbs, Piper, Gus, Cacti, Ash, Rodney, Femi, Folami, Miss Alice, Hilary e Pebbles and their new families a wonderful life of beautiful new daily experiences. Happy life to all!
Thank you to our associate member Alessio Bottiroli for these wonderful photos, which truly capture the emotions of this special day.
