Like a breath of wind Aubrey (November 2017- 4th April 2018)
Aubrey was a beautiful 5 month old puppy, dumped by his owner because of a problem with one of his paws and due to be put to sleep.
He was saved by Limerick Animal Welfare and it looked like life had in store for him a future filled with games, love and respect.
He had a wonderful family waiting for him, but life turned out to be cruel indeed: an unfavourable diagnosis…due to a congenital problem…followed by a rapid deterioration. This afternoon his pain ended forever, and ours began.
Audrey was a beautiful puppy and his life was like a breath of wind; for what it’s worth, it left a deep mark on our hearts.
At least he had that good fortune, small and insufficient though it is: not to have disappeared into nothingness like so many others like him.
Not just out of misfortune in their case, but due to the choices of an industry which brings these dogs into the world for the sole purpose of making a bit of money.
Goodbye, Aubrey. Rest in peace, little Irish greyhound.
