Campaigns
Greyhounds are the most ill treated and exterminated of all breeds in Europe.
Commercial greyhound racing, coursing, and hunting with galgos are cruel activities, unworthy of civilised countries.
Our organisation is radically opposed to commercial dog racing in general, and to greyhound racing in particular, as practiced in 7 countries in the world, of which two in Europe: USA, Australia, Ireland, the UK, Mexico, New Zealand and Vietnam.
We believe that the only way to avoid the exploitation and ill treatment of greyhounds and lurchers is by closing down all racetracks, by abolishing coursing and racing and by ending betting on races.
Equally, we believe that the only way to give galgos the respect they deserve is to introduce laws to ban hunting with galgos and coursing.
Adoption is not the solution to the problem. Not only does it not solve the problem, but rescuing and adopting greyhounds, galgos or lurchers without a wider, organised and systematic anti racing and anti hunting commitment ends up – albeit involuntarily – by propping up a system (the greyhound racing and hunting industries) which exploits, ill treats and kills tens of thousands of greyhounds each year.
For these reasons, since its very foundation our organisation has been part of the worldwide antiracing movement fighting for cultural change and the public condemnation of the abuse of greyhounds, and for laws to ban greyhound racing and hunting with galgos, with definite and severe penalties for those who violate those laws. This movement has been achieving increasingly important results over the years.
In this section you will find articles, documents, video reports and information produced either by ourselves, by anti racing and anti hunting organisations from around the world or published by the international press, as well as documentation about the anti racing and anti hunting campaigns we support and take part in.
