In memory Rotar Wing
Sue Stoddart has very kindly composed a beautiful poem in memory of Rotar Wing which is featured on our new leaflets dedicated not only Rotar Wing but also to the thousands of greyhounds that are forced to perform – suffer and die for the gambling industry while carrying existing injuries. Rotar Wing – Raced – Broken – Killed By Sue Stoddart Along the track he was paraded, for all the people to see. A beautiful black greyhound, so young at the age of three. At such a tender age, 80 races he had already ran. But his young life was soon to be over, before it had even began. As the traps flew open, Rotar Wing was out, and running down the track. But seconds later, a dreadful fall, and he was lying on his back. As the race continued on, Rotar Wing was screaming out in pain. In front of all the cheering people, and in name of the racing game. The last to be seen of Rotar wing, was as he was carried off the track. Then destroyed by a vet, as he had broken his back. No more would he run the track of death, his young life cruelly taken away. Poor Rotar Wing raced, broken, killed, never to see another day. But he will always be remembered, by those of us who care. This is why we hold this memorial day, in his memory we will forever share. Please support this weekend’s remembrance event in memory of Rotar Wing. Details of how to order leaflets – free of charge – can be found here.
